LEO:...My namesake
GARRISON KEILLOR:
Do you sell golf equipment or...?
LEO:
My namesake did.
GARRISON:
Your namesake. I see. You sure you don't have anything to do with school buses?
LEO:
Rode on a few. I have no empire of buses in the way to fall back on in case this stiffs.
[Audience laughs]
GARRISON:
I was just asking, you don't need to get defensive [audience laughs] You did have this wonderful song though on an album a couple of albums back. It was like a middle-aged guy's hip-hop song, called "Why Don't You Fix My Car?"
LEO:
That's right --
GARRISON:
"Why Won't You Fix My Car?"
LEO:
"Why Can't You Fix My Car?"
[Audience laughs]
GARRISON:
"Why Can't You Fix My Car?" And that was the refrain.
LEO:
Yes it was.
GARRISON:
It really touched me deeply.
[Audience laughs]
LEO:
It was --- it's a universal experience I think.
GARRISON:
[To audience:] Won't you welcome Mr. Leo Kottke.
[Applause]
[Leo plays "Peg Leg"]
[Applause]
LEO:

[Leo plays "Room at the Top of the Stairs"]
