- Laminated Top

A soundboard that consists of a wood laminate, rather than a single piece of solid wood. Laminated tops are generally used on inexpensive guitars. The tonal quality of laminated tops does not improve with playing. See solid top.

The reinforcement inside the body where the top and back are joined to the sides.

The wider section of the hourglass on the body, containing the bridge.
