Cedar
A soft tone wood with a yellow to reddish color. Through not as popular as spruce, cedar is one of the most common woods used for soundboards.

Celluloid
The plastic material traditionally used on guitars for binding and pickguards.

Cross Bracing
Also known as the "x-bracing," this form of bracing was developed by Martin in the 1840's and is the standard form of bracing used on most guitars. The primary braces form an X shape.

Cutaway
A portion of the guitar body that has been "cut away" to allow access to the fingerboard at the upper frets (e.g., usually around the 15th fret). Cutaways can have sharp or rounded edges.
