On some models, such as the Leo Kottke 12-string prototype, Bozo has experimented with molded plastic backs similar to Ovations.
In 1973, Bozo closed his Chicago shop and moved his operation to Escondido in California to escape the cold mid-western winters. It was about this time that he contracted with a respected Japanese luthier (Yairi) to mass-produce guitars of Bozo's design. This allowed Bozo the freedom to concentrate on further design experimentation and construction of custom pieces.
